Memory Care

Individuals with Alzheimer’s, Dementia, or memory impairment require more specialized care. Memory care communities offer a higher level of care with highly trained staff 24 hours a day. Memory care units offer most of the same care as an assisted living facilities such as Activities of Daily Living or ADL’s, but with more individual attention for each person.

The majority of the larger assisted living communities have a secured memory care unit. Smaller facilities are able to provide Memory Care as well. Within these units residents are given options to have a shared or private room. Alarm systems are usually placed within each room just in case residents might need immediate assistance or have an emergency.
